Ethel is a cultural worker and community weaver, whose practice sits at the intersection of community work, writing, research, and collaborative space-making. Her work grows from her long-term relationships with communities in Singapore and across Southeast Asia, often around themes like ecological wellbeing, alternative education, urban sociology, women empowerment, and migrant worker solidarities.

As writer and researcher,

I use ****storytelling as a tool for advocacy. My writing focuses on ethnographic approaches, where I draw on my personal experiences with communities in Singapore and across Southeast Asia to highlight the work being done on the fronts of social and environmental change-making.
